Este viernes 3 de noviembre se pondrá en marcha el In-Season Tournament de la NBA, la primera edición de la ‘Copa’ que siempre quiso organizar el comisionado Adam Silver. Como parte de esta decisión, cada equipo presentará un nuevo parqué. También pondrá en marcha el uso de las musculosas ‘City Edition’, indumentarias que reflejan la cultura o un dato distintivo de cada ciudad.

La ‘City Edition’ de los Hawks contará con el predominio del color negro y sus detalles en celeste y crema. El primero de ellos permite recordar su musculosa celeste de 1968, la primera que usó en Atlanta. En tanto, la crema refleja el color del parqué del estadio, donde busca forjar su cultura.
¿Y el negro? En el idioma inglés, la fuente en ‘negrita’ se traduce en ‘bold’. La palabra bold se asocia con esto, pero en realidad la palabra se define como “la intencionalidad de tomar riesgos; la confianza y el coraje para conseguir un determinado resultado”. Así, la franquicia señala que el ‘bold’ de su remera refleja: “La constante lucha por conseguir un campeonato”.

‘Un guiño a los orígenes del deporte’, señala el posteo de los Boston Celtics. Su City Edition combina los colores tradicionales de los Celtics con detalles del deporte originalmente creado por James Naismith.
El formato del ‘Boston’ tiene la tipografía de la YMCA de Massachussetts (el estado en donde se encuentra Boston), la institución en donde Naismith creó el deporte. A su vez, cuenta con un borde de colores marrones símiles a las canastas que originalmente cortó el canadiense para que se pueda jugar. Además, el short presenta un verde en su borde superior para asemejarse al cinturón que anteriormente se usaba para disfrutar de la disciplina.

La franquicia de los Brooklyn Nets tendrá una musculosa hecha por el diseñador y fanático KAWS. La indumentaria mantiene el predominio del negro tradicional de la musculosa de la franquicia, pero añade tonalidades de azules, rojos, celestes y grises para representar los grafitis que están en la ciudad. Así, representa la convivencia como las tensiones de los distintos grupos sociales dentro de la ciudad.

La ‘City Edition” de los Hornets está inspirado en los colores de Carolina del Norte, su estado. Mantiene su celeste tradicional, pero se combina con tonos dorados y menta propios de la época dorada del estado a comienzos de los 1800’s.

Otra musculosa City Edition en la que se mantiene el predominio del negro es en la de los Chicago Bulls. El color negro se combina con el blanco del nombre de la ciudad, que mantiene esta orientación vertical por el cartel que estaba en la puerta del estadio antiguamente.
A su vez, en su extremo inferior izquierdo se puede observar el mensaje ‘Madhouse at Madison’. El estadio de los Bulls originalmente estaba localizado en la calle Madison y recibió el apodo de ‘Madhouse’ (la casa de la locura) por su gran bullicio en cada uno de los juegos de la franquicia.
